From 2 to 25 October, Trevi hosts Ottobre Trevano and the 44th edition of the Palio dei Terzieri, an event recalling the rebirth of the town after its destruction in 1214. The programme brings together the Terzieri of Castello, Matiggia and Piano through events dedicated to medieval history, local traditions and food. The festival opens with the Convivium dei Terzieri and an itinerant dinner, followed by the Historical Parade, the Allegorie performance and, on 4 October, the Palio race. Other events during the month include the Sfida dei Suoni, the Children’s Palio, Scenes of Medieval Life and activities focusing on traditional crafts. On 17 and 18 October, the Black Celery Market Exhibition also returns, together with the Black Celery and Sausage Festival, featuring local producers and dishes based on one of Trevi’s typical products. The programme also includes a medieval market, traditional games and events devoted to autumn flavours, concluding with Castagnata e Antichi Sapori on 25 October.
