The first edition of WAO - Open Art Week, the contemporary art event organized by the Rea association with the patronage of L'Art Vivant and in collaboration with La Maison de l'Image, is going to start at the end of September between Perugia and the Major Island.

WAO is conceived as an event that is:

• Independent: to highlight the changes in the creation and enjoyment of contemporary art, in alternative spaces to public institutions and private galleries;
• Itinerant and widespread: the 2018 edition will be divided between Perugia and Tunis, in 30 locations including cinemas, theatres, visual art centres, libraries and public spaces.
• International and inclusive: more than 40 Italian and Tunisian artists of international importance will participate.

This is a festival aiming at promoting a creative exchange between nations and cultures, through the common language of art in all its forms: from cinema to theatre, from comics to photography, from dance to music.
