Puppet Night in the Library
The Carducci Library, in collaboration with the Amici della Carducci (Friends of the Carducci Library) association, the Circolo fotografico tifernate (Typhoon Photographic Circle) and the coop. il Poliedro, has scheduled the event ‘La Notte dei Pupazzi in Biblioteca’ (Puppet Night in the Library) for Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December.
This is an original and fun initiative, born in 2007 in the United States, designed to bring the youngest children closer to reading and library attendance. It works like this: on a pre-established day, children go to the library, stories will be read to them and they will hand over their favourite puppet to the librarians, only to return to pick it up the next day, when they will also be able to see, through photos and videos, the exciting adventures their little friends had during the night. At the end they will return home together, accompanied by the book that the individual puppets will have chosen for them.
The programme will be as follows: on the morning of Saturday 14, from 10 a.m. onwards, the children will accompany their friends to the library, to come back and pick them up the following afternoon, Sunday 15 December, and all together see what happened among the shelves during the night.
The initiative is free of charge and is reserved for a maximum of 30 children from 4 years of age.
Booking is compulsory.
