After the June challenge, the Giostra della Quintana: La Rivincita returns to Foligno on 12 and 13 September 2026. 

It is a unique and gripping challenge between the ten districts of the city: riding his horse, the knight must ride a treacherous course, trying to get his lance into the ring hanging from the arm of the famous Quintana statue, representing the God Mars. The knight who finishes the course without penalty and in the shortest possible time wins the Palio.

On Saturday, 12 September, the streets of Foligno will be coloured for the evening historical parade with more than 800 characters dressed in typical Baroque costumes.

In the preceding weeks, the city of Foligno comes alive with the opening of the ten district taverns, where one can taste local and ancient dishes.

The actual competition will take place on Sunday 13 September.

Admission tickets must be purchased in order to attend the Joust.
