65ª Stagione Estiva al Teatro Romano 2026
From 2 July to 16 August, at the Teatro Romano di Gubbio in the city of Gubbio, the 65th summer season takes place, combining theatre, music and archaeology in a cultural programme that transforms the ancient cavea into a living performance space. The season offers a diverse selection of events ranging from classical theatre and scientific talks to live music, dance and contemporary productions, fostering a continuous dialogue between heritage and performing arts.
The programme opens on 2 July with “Inaudito – Whisper Sounds”, a concert within a regional project bringing music into Umbrian national museums. Highlights include 6 July with Mario Tozzi in “Caro Sapiens – The History of Earth and Humanity’s Choices”, focusing on environmental and scientific themes, followed by “The Disappearance of Majorana” on 8 July and “Caravaggio: Light and Shadow” on 17 July.
On 19 July, marking the anniversary of the Via D’Amelio massacre, “Paolo Borsellino. The Guardian of Courage” offers a moment of civic remembrance. The programme continues with theatrical and narrative works, including Luca Ward on 29 July with “Today I Want to Be Myself”, a personal journey through career and storytelling.
The season also features a strong musical line-up, including the Gubbstock Rock Festival, the musical “Neverending”, the Pink Floyd Show, a tribute concert to Ennio Morricone by the Sicilian Lyric Choir, and ballet performances such as Swan Lake. The season closes on 16 August with “The Year That Will Come”, a tribute to Lucio Dalla, performed by Gubbio No Border with special guests.
