Magione hosts the Palio del Giogo 2026 from 1 to 9 August. Taking place in several locations across the town, the event features music, folk traditions, cinema, theatre, art, literary events and local gastronomy, highlighting the cultural, creative and social heritage of the area.

The programme includes traditional Magione recipes and a wide range of cultural activities designed to showcase the town’s identity and customs. The central event is the Palio del Giogo, a historic competition involving the town’s four districts—Casenuove, Caserino, Comune and Stazione—which brings together participants and spectators of all ages.

The festival opens on 1 August in Piazza Carpine with the traditional Challenge Launch, featuring the Fire and Crossbowmen Group of Assisi, followed by the Giro Veloce, the race that determines the starting order for the Palio competition. Throughout the event, cultural initiatives and traditional celebrations offer visitors the opportunity to experience the history and community spirit of Magione.
