Paraposition - Alicja Kwade a Todi 2026
In Todi, from 28 August to 25 October, Alicja Kwade presents an exhibition project extending across Piazza del Popolo and the Sala delle Pietre in the Municipal Palaces. The initiative continues the programme begun in 2024 with works by Mark di Suvero, bringing installations into the historic centre and creating a direct relationship between art and public space. The opening will take place on Friday 28 August at 6:00 pm. Piazza del Popolo will host Paraposition, a work approximately six metres high and seven metres wide, made of interwoven steel beams supporting large suspended boulders. A chair placed beneath the structure establishes a physical and visual relationship with the work, questioning notions of weight, gravity, fragility and perception. Paraposition will remain on view until 25 October. On the same day, the solo exhibition devoted to Alicja Kwade, curated by Marco Tonelli, will open at the Sala delle Pietre and remain open until 4 October. Through installations, wall works and sound, the exhibition explores time and reflects on the relationship between reality, knowledge, and established philosophical and mathematical structures. From 28 August to 13 September, the exhibition is open daily from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm; from 14 September to 4 October, it is open Thursday through Sunday at the same times.
