Giallo Natale 2026

From Tuesday, November 24th to Saturday, November 28th, with a preview on Saturday the 21st, the city of Gubbio hosts the fourth edition of Giallo Natale, a festival dedicated to the crime fiction, mystery, and horror genres. The chosen theme is Magia del reale (Magic of the Real), a journey exploring the boundary between normality and mystery through literature, current affairs, philosophy, and pop culture, combining author talks with cinema, theater, and role-playing games. The events, free of charge with mandatory reservation, take place between the Biblioteca Sperelliana and the Centro Servizi Santo Spirito. The schedule opens on Wednesday, November 25th with Marco Franzelli, in a talk dedicated to the story of Marco Pantani, followed on Thursday the 26th by Micaela Palmieri, who delves into the criminal history of Renato Vallanzasca and the theme of collective memory. Two events are scheduled for Friday, November 27th: in the afternoon, Daniele Mencarelli reflects on family ties and identity, while in the evening, Chiara Valerio uses the mechanisms of crime fiction to address themes of social judgment and gender violence. The festival closes on Saturday, November 28th with a talk by Laura Sgrò, focused on abuses of power and the search for truth, and an evening dialogue between Lucrezia Ercoli and Selena Pastorino, dedicated to the philosophical themes connected to the series Stranger Things.
