Cicloturistica dei Borghi più belli d'Italia 2026
On 20 September 2026, Castiglione del Lago hosts the start of the fourteenth edition of the Cicloturistica dei Borghi più Belli d'Italia, a non-competitive cycling event through the villages overlooking Lake Trasimeno: Passignano sul Trasimeno, Castel Rigone, Magione, San Savino, Panicale and Città della Pieve.
Open to road bikes and gravel bikes, the event offers three routes. The Long route covers 115 km with 1,440 m of elevation gain on tarmac. The Short route runs 75 km with 500 m of elevation gain, also on tarmac. Gravel riders can choose a 60 km route with 500 m of elevation gain on compact dirt roads.
Refreshment stops, photography services and entertainment are available along all routes.
