On August 30, Papigno, the Marmore Falls and Lake Piediluco will host Capturing the Light, a free itinerant workshop focusing on photography, landscape and the emotional dimension of looking, following in the footsteps of Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot. Part of the programme 200 COROT | 1826–2026. Places of the Journey, Landscapes of Memory, the workshop draws on the landscapes of the Terni Valley that inspired the French painter two centuries ago and offers participants an experience combining photographic technique, observation and personal interpretation of the landscape. The day will begin in Papigno with an introductory session on the fundamentals of manual photography, before continuing through the locations of the Plenarists’ Diffused Museum, the Marmore Falls and finally Lake Piediluco, during the Golden Hour. Practical activities will focus on composition, reading light, image analysis and creating a visual narrative of the area. The workshop will be led by photographer Marco Palazzo and psychologist Giuliana Pitti, whose approach combines photographic technique, visual awareness and the emotional dimension of observation. Photographs taken during the workshop will subsequently be selected for a photographic exhibition in Papigno and included in the 2027 Corot Bicentenary Calendar, whose proceeds will be allocated to social initiatives.
