From 6 December 2025 to 6 January 2026, Christmas brings lights, traditions and festive events to the historic centre of Città della Pieve. The season opens with the inauguration of the Presepi in Mostra and the lighting of the large Albero di Natale, which will brighten the town’s streets throughout the holidays.

The most magical setting of the Pievese Christmas is the Medieval Fortress, which turns into an enchanting place for children and families. Here, La Rocca del Natale comes to life: two afternoons – 8 and 26 December, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm – when children aged 6–10 explore towers, halls and hidden passages in a fairy-tale atmosphere of lights and stories.

The fortress also hosts Natale Creativo, creative workshops designed to spark children’s imagination with collage, colours, glitter and handmade decorations to take home. Sessions are scheduled for 5, 12, 19 December and 2 January, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.

The programme continues with the town’s traditional Nativity displays:
• Presepe Monumentale del Terziere Castello – open from 25 December to 6 January
• Presepe di San Litardo – open at weekends in December and until 11 January, at the Church of Santa Maria in Litardo
• Stella di Speranza – Presepe vivente – from 3 to 5 January, in the historic centre

On 31 December, the town hosts the traditional Capodanno in Piazza, a festive gathering to welcome the new year together.

The calendar concludes on 6 January with the much-loved Discesa della Befana dalla Torre, a magical event for families and children.
