Festival dei due Mondi 2025

From June 27 to July 13, 2025, the Festival dei Due Mondi returns to Spoleto for its 68th edition, hosting the finest international performing arts experiences while enhancing theaters, open-air venues, and unconventional spaces.

The 68th edition of the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto promises to be a rich and varied event, dedicated to interdisciplinary dialogue and artistic experimentation. Under the direction of Monique Veaute, the festival offers a diverse program that aims to explore and redefine the languages of art, with a particular focus on the music of Gustav Mahler, which serves as a common thread for many of the performances.

The event will take place from June 27 and will offer a wide range of performances, including:

Opera: The opening will be with the opera "Hadrian" by Rufus Wainwright, with images by Robert Mapplethorpe.

Musical theater: Performances by artists such as William Kentridge, Ersan Mondtag, and Alessandro Baricco.

Music: A rich program of concerts, with the participation of prestigious orchestras such as the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, and internationally renowned artists such as Anouska Shankar and Hayato Sumino.

Dance: Performances by companies such as Circa, Sydney Dance Company, and Blanca Li.

Theater: Works by playwrights and actors such as Luca Marinelli, Federico Tiezzi, and Massimo Popolizio.

In addition to the main performances, the festival will also offer a series of collateral events, including exhibitions, art installations, and meetings with artists. William Kentridge, one of the most important contemporary artists, is the author of this edition's manifesto.
