Day of the Rose and of Rita
Celebrated for the first time on 15 June 1952, the “Day of the Rose” has been taking place, since then, on the penultimate or last Sunday of June of each year.
On the next 24th and 25th June, therefore, thousands of pilgrims will go to Roccaporena to visit the places dear to the Saint for then reaching at the end the Cliff of the prayer with the solemn Stations of the Cross.
The schedule of the event follows:
Religious programme
24th June
11 am - Sanctuary of St.
8 pm - Journey of Faith: Torches on the way from Cascia to Roccaporena
9.30 pm - Vigil Open-Air Liturgy and torchlight procession
25th June
7.30 am - Welcome to pilgrims, delivery of the Rose, flower symbol of St. Rita and of the parchment to women bearing the name of Rita.
8 am - Sanctuary of St. Rita, Eucharistic Celebration
11 am - Solemn Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Monsignor Renato Boccardo Archbishop of Spoleto - Norcia - Handover of the relic of St. Rita from the Parish of St. Peter in Casale (Bologna) to the Parish of St. Anthony from Padova in Montegiordano (Cosenza).
5 pm - Stations of the Cross at the Cliff of the Prayer

6.30 pm - Joint performance of the group of the folklore association “City of Matelica”, carried out by the Municipal Tourist Board of Cascia - Roccaporena
9 pm - Musical performance with the Tropicana Clan “Blue Horizons”
11.30 pm - Big Firework Show of the Art. Firework Allevi
