Corsa all’Anello - Narni

Corsa all’Anello

From 24 April to 11 May 2025 the 57th edition of the Corsa all'Anello returns to Narni, an extraordinary medieval historical re-enactment in Umbria dedicated to Saint Juvenal, the city's first bishop.
It was the statutes of 1371 that definitively sanctioned the birth of the festivities in honour of the patron saint. Today, the event lasts three weeks, culminating on the second Sunday in May with the famous Corsa al Campo de li giochi.
Various traditional events and religious celebrations will take place during this long period, from the Medieval Days to the attached permanent settings that can be admired until 11 May, rediscovering not only the customs and habits of the time, but also hidden corners of the city; from the Blessings of the Knights (7 May Fraporta, 8 May Santa Maria, 9 May Mezule) to the Medieval Arts and Crafts Market, from the Historical Race in the Platea Major (3 May) to the Grand Historical Procession (10 May) to the official Race for the Ring (11 May) at the end of which the winning Terziere and the best knight in the field will emerge. Not forgetting, as a grand finale, the awarding of the Bravio, also on 11 May.
During the entire period of the festival, as usual, the programme will be enriched daily by performances by the groups of musicians, flag-wavers and archers. Alleys and squares will be the setting for theatrical performances, juggling and historical dancing. All of this will be accompanied by jesters and period figures who will cheer the passage through the streets lit by torchlight.
