In Gubbio, on 6 January 2026, the traditional La Befana del Pompiere returns, one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Epiphany season. As per tradition, the event will take place in Piazza Grande, where a special “Befana” will descend safely from the bell tower of Palazzo dei Consoli, offering a moment of wonder and fun for children and adults alike. Once on the ground, she will hand out sweets to the children, turning the city’s historic square into a place of celebration and joy.

Organised by the Gubbio Fire Brigade Command, the initiative offers an opportunity to bring the public closer to the work of firefighters and to celebrate the Epiphany in an engaging and participatory way. Throughout the day, there will also be demonstrations showcasing the techniques and equipment used by firefighters in their daily rescue operations.
