Day 1

Arrival at the historic Country Relais in the hills of Orvieto, close to Monte Peglia. Check-in to a standard room, welcome dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Orvieto, a marvellous town perched on a tuff cliff. Meet the cycling guide and collect your bike (or e-bike) to begin the tour, which starts from the magnificent Piazza del Duomo and winds its way along the cliff, offering extraordinary views over the Paglia river valley. The route continues through the medieval quarter, where you can admire the 11th-century Cathedral of San Giovenale. A visit to the underground city is included as part of the guided tour of Orvieto Underground, a labyrinth of caves and wells that run through the entire cliff. The cycle tour ends at a wine cellar of Etruscan origin, where you can sample the region’s excellent produce, accompanied by extra virgin olive oil and superb local wines. Return to the relais and overnight stay.
