Lake Trasimeno Motorboat Tour
A 6-hour boat tour on Lake Trasimeno, Italy’s fourth-largest lake. The lake was formed by an earthquake thousands of years ago. There are only two small watercourses flowing directly into the lake and none flowing out. It is only 6 metres deep but is home to a wide variety of fish and birds. Beyond the shoreline, rolling hills form the backdrop to the lake, along with scattered woods and fields of sunflowers and maize, vineyards and olive groves. Farming here is still practised using traditional methods. Enjoy a lovely picnic by the water’s edge and visit the islands of Lake Trasimeno. The lake has three islands: Polvese – the largest – and Minore, which are uninhabited, and Isola Maggiore, which is a charming fishing village. This magnificent spot is also home to the Romanesque church of San Salvatore, the church of San Michele Arcangelo and Villa Isabella, owned by the Marquises of Guglielmi.
