The tour departs from Passignano and heads towards Sant’Arcangelo, taking in the picturesque villages that look out over the tranquil waters of the lake: San Feliciano and Monte del Lago, two splendid, picturesque villages. We then continue on to Città della Pieve, not forgetting to stop off again at Panicale for a good coffee in its charming old square or for lunch at your leisure in one of the village’s lovely restaurants, which offer traditional or creative cuisine. Arrival in Città della Pieve, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, famous not only for its narrow, winding streets but also for being the birthplace of Perugino, the painter Pietro Vannucci. We recommend a visit to one of his best-known works, housed in the Oratory of Santa Maria dei Bianchi: ‘The Adoration of the Magi’. Time to relax at the hotel and enjoy dinner at your leisure in the historic village or the surrounding area.

After an excellent breakfast we are ready for the new stage that will take us down from the splendid hills of Città della Pieve to Castiglione del Lago, the village that stretches out on the west coast of the lake. Dominated by the ancient fortress dating back to the 12th century Castiglione del Lago is a lively and fascinating village where you can spend time between the beaches and the historic center and where you can stroll among clubs, shops, old workshops to enjoy an excellent aperitifs or a special dinner with the excellent wines of this area.

Back on the bike to the jetty at Castiglione del Lago to board the ferry to Isola Maggiore. This little corner of paradise will be a marvellous discovery, thanks to its rich history and idyllic atmosphere. A cycle ride through the streets of the ancient village, where just 16 people live today but which was once a wealthy and thriving fishing centre that supplied the entire Papal States.The old fishing village no longer exists and the castle lies in ruins, but the island’s main street is still lined with palaces and a museum dedicated to Irish lace, which is one of the island’s unique features! Pheasants roaming free, crickets and cicadas, and the silence broken only by the rustling of the trees and the sound of the waves make Isola Maggiore a truly magical and unmissable place! Lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon, departure by ferry to the northern shore of the lake, towards Passignano. (Option to extend your stay on Isola Maggiore). Arrival in Passignano and check-in at your chosen accommodation, followed by time to enjoy the lovely holiday atmosphere of the neighbouring villages, with their many restaurants and cafés along the lakeside. Dinner at your leisure.
