We can tell you about the streets of Perugia's historic centre in those days of July by following the blues notes of B.B. King's guitar, or by accompanying with the voice Keith Jarrett's piano melodies; or we can tell you about the emotion of hearing the chords of Sting and Eric Clapton, but that would not be enough to talk about Umbria Jazz, the international festival dedicated to Jazz in all its nuances, which has been taking place in Perugia since 1973.

For ten days, from 12th to 21st July, the large space of the Santa Giuliana Arena, the fascinating stage of the Teatro Morlacchi and the National Gallery of Umbria are going to host important names in the international music scene.

The 2019 edition is once again offering a programme full of great names and artists: Thom Yorke, Paolo Conte, Chick Corea, Diana Krall, Lauryn Hill and many others to be announced.

Walking through the old town you will be accompanied by a unique leitmotif: the notes of jazz. The day of Piazza IV Novembre, the heart of Perugia, and the Carducci Gardens will be marked by many free concerts, while walking along Corso Vannucci you may come across one of the now famous street parades of the Funk Off.

It will be a unique opportunity to see Perugia in one of its most lively and particular periods that have made it an exceptional stage for international musicians as well as a popular destination for all jazz lovers.
