Umbria Jazz 2021
The 2020 edition of Umbria Jazz, the international festival dedicated to jazz in all its nuances, has been canceled. It will return to Perugia in 2021 from 9th to 18th July.
The decision was taken by the Umbria Jazz Participation Foundation, due to the prolonged covid-19 health emergency and the uncertainty that makes the presence of many international artists impossible at the moment.
Some concerts have already been rescheduled to 2021 with these dates:
Sir Tom Jones, simply one of the most beautiful popular music voices of the past half century, will perform on July 13th. A powerful, expressive, flexible voice, at ease in any musical style, emotionally engaging. It is thanks to this formidable "instrument", and also to an explosive stage presence, that Tom Jones has become and is still a legend after fifty years.
On July 14th, it is the turn of Redman-Mehldau-McBride-Blade: A MoodSwing Reunion.
The quartet returns (Italian exclusive for Umbria Jazz) in the same formation of the third album published in the name of Joshua Redman released in 1994, with the difference that it is a real superband. In the twenty-five years since the release of that disk the young promises have become true stars of modern jazz. The four artists of MoodSwing are all well known to the public of Umbria Jazz who has had the opportunity to listen to them many times and in different contexts.
Other concerts are being rescheduled.
Tickets already purchased for all events that will be rescheduled remain valid.
For others not reprogrammed in 2021, a voucher of the same amount will be issued, which can be used to purchase tickets for UJ 21 events.
