Palio dei Quartieri - Palio of Neighbourhoods
From the 31st July to the 6th August Nocera Umbra will live among the medieval atmosphere of the neighbourhood Borgo San Martino and the nineteenth-century atmosphere of the neighbourhood Porta Santa Croce: it’s the time for the "Palio dei Quartieri" (Palio of Neighbourhoods).
On one side the neighbourhood Borgo San Martino, located in the right side of the town and recalling the historical period ranging from 1350 to 1450, on the other side the neighbourhood Porta Santa Croce, located instead in the left side of the town and bringing on stage the historical period ranging from 1820 to 1920.
Theatre performances amongst the inspiring corners of the village, parades, workshops and taverns with the typical dishes of the Umbrian traditions, will live up the alleys of the “Waters Town”, bringing it back in its past.
Don’t miss out on the Game of the Unfaithful Lady, on the challenge between the two neighbourhoods divided in relays and on the race with the stretcher: a competition where ability is not always sufficient, but you still need an element of luck.
