Art Monsters – Article 3

From the Italian Constitution: “All citizens have equal social dignity and are equal before the law, without distinction of sex, race, language, religion, political opinions, personal and social conditions. It is duty of the Republic to remove those obstacles of an economic and social nature which, limiting the freedom and equality of citizens, prevent the full personal development and the effective participation of all workers in the political, economic and social organization of the Country”.

The aim of the exhibition “

it/documents/10184/87075/artmonsters_articolo3/2021d957-8969-4a74-9cbc-889b6ea3c3ba" target="_blank"> Art Monsters – Article 3”, scheduled from 4 th May to 24 th June at the Civic Museum of Penna’s Palace in Perugia, is starting with a crucial article of the Constitution, analysing it in depth, interpreting it according to never dogmatic point of views, researching its philosophical motifs, contextualize it as compared with a difficult and controversial moment of the Country, ‘cut’ the article into 15 sentences, attributing each sentence to an artist with a specific project.

The exhibition space will be mapped by the 15 artists in a sequential and progressive trend. The artworks will follow the story of the article 3, by becoming single islands between the wall or a possible floor. Each artistic area will be accompanied by a prespaced mural with the related sentences, as well as name of the artist and title of the artwork. It will be possible to read the complete article just at the end of the itinerary, when the 15 sentences above mentioned will be reassembled.

The artists come partially from the previous editions of Art Monster and partially from the repeated experiences with Collicola Palace Visual Arts in Spoleto.
