Valentine's Day in Terni: the Saint, the city, the events
In Umbria the celebrations are particularly heartfelt: perhaps not everyone knows that it was Terni who gave birth to the Saint, whose remains are currently kept inside the basilica just outside the historic centre.
The most famous legend among the many stories surrounding his figure is certainly the one linked to the legionnaire Sabino and the beautiful Serapia, a couple of young lovers that Bishop Valentino married against every obstacle and difficulty, thus sanctioning his role as Protector of lovers.
Like every year February is the month of love in Terni, thanks to the many initiatives in honour of the patron saint of the city.
Among the scheduled appointments there are going to be the "Feast of the Promise" for all engaged couples who are getting married in 2019 (on 17th February), the unmissable Valentine's Day Marathon (on 17th February), the highly anticipated "Cioccolentino" (from 13th to 17th February) and the historic Valentine's Day Fair along Viale Trieste (on 14th February).
