Umbria and its great events

From the most famous initiatives with international artists to the fascination of historical reenactment atmospheres, Umbria is a “long lasting event” to experience.

Whether it is a cheerful party or another event that animate the squares or the cities turning them into open-air  theaters and works of art, there are countless opportunities to discover this effervescent region of Italy.

From June 28 to July 14 the Festival of 2 Worlds comes back in Spoleto for 17 days of great events that will transform the city into a real stage, including shows, exhibitions, film initiatives and many Italian and international guests. At its 62nd edition, the Festival confirms its prestige as a worldwide event where the great arts such as Opera, Music, Dance and Theater get together.

The Upper Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi, the Castle of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Magione, the Basilica of Saint Peter and the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia and the Signorelli Theater in Cortona are the scenery of the Trasimeno Music Festival which welcomes great performers of internationally renowned classical music and talented young musicians from June 29th to July 5th.

A few words are needed to present Umbria Jazz, the renowned festival dedicated to jazz in all its nuances which has taken place in Perugia since 1973. From 12 to 21 July, ten days of events awaits you: the Santa Giuliana Arena, the Morlacchi Theater and the National Gallery of Umbria will host important names of the world music scene. Walking through the city center you are accompanied by a single leitmotif, that is, the notes of jazz coming from the many free concerts taking place in the squares or in the alleys, including the famous street parade of the Funk Off.

Scheduled in Città di Castello from the 25th of August to the 7th of September, the 52nd edition of the Festival of Nations is dedicated to China and its musical culture. With a program of twenty main shows and numerous side events, this Festival will cross the borders of Europe once again for a musical journey from the ancient atmosphere of Beijing to the best expressions of the contemporary Chinese and European panorama.
