From February 13 to 16, the chocolate festival returns in the city of San Valentino in the sign of love.

The chocolate festival comes back to Terni full of news, from video mapping to sensorial tastings. From February 13 to 16, the streets of the historic centre of Terni return to be filled with flavours and colours of Cioccolentino, the event that has been celebrating Valentine's Day for seventeen years and the festival of lovers in the name of chocolate.
The theme of this edition is the ability of love to overcome dreams and fantasy, to be even more beautiful when it is lived than when it is only imagined.
The most beautiful love is not that of fairy tales or great novels, but what is experienced day after day, hand in hand, facing bitter moments together and savouring sweet moments together ... like chocolate.
The novelty of Cioccolentino 2020 is the suggestive Mapping Experience, a show of three-dimensional projections and music that will create visual effects of great emotional impact. There will be a life-size virtual model on the original facade of the historic buildings of Terni. This popular event will allow all visitors to admire the buildings of historical and architectural interest, in a new and very exciting way. The itinerant path of visual images will be active every day of the event from 17.00 to 1.00.
Another news of this edition of Cioccolentino is the combination of well-being and taste. With a healthy body and a free mind one, we can love more and better. This is the principle behind the initiative "Feeding our body - Energy for Love", which includes meetings on the culture of health and food with insights on chocolate and its beneficial properties. There is also space for oil with the Beauty Farm and the exclusive wellness and beauty treatments for face and body.
The 2020 edition proposes the famous Villages of Taste, with Cooking Live Shows, Pastry, Chocolate, Wine Experience and Food and Wine. There will be tastings and workshops dedicated to all the typical excellences of the territory: pastry, oil, salami, cheeses and chocolate, proposed this year with a big novelty: an interactive path that, thanks to a projection, will make immerse people in the beauty of the area and its products. Another news is the course on sourdough by Chef Academy.
The wine, ambassador of the territory, this year will be even more protagonist with the Wine Experience. In the splendid setting of Piazza San Francesco, you can have a unique tasting experience, with multi-sensorial wine tastings: thanks to the play of lights and colors, visitors can enjoy wines paired with local aromas and flavors. But good drinking is not just wine: Cioccolentino dedicates an exhibition to Viparo which, as the label remains strictly original, is the typical liqueur of Umbria, produced since 1912 in Terni, by the pharmacist-herbalist Morganti, to rediscover its history from the beginning to today.
The tastings will also be dedicated to the king of the event: chocolate. Guided tastings, workshops and insights dedicated to the wonderful world of chocolate will allow participants to discover all the secrets of the food of the Gods and its unexpected and tasty combinations, also through a tasting in the dark accompanied by a Master Chocolatier.
The undisputed protagonist of the last edition, the "panpepato", king of the Terni pastry shop, could not be missing this year too, with a fun tasting of the product symbol of the Terni tradition. A pastry chef and a narrator will try their hand at presenting the product through a multi-sensorial path (sight, smell, taste). The public will become an active part of the tasting process and will be involved in a performance whose final purpose is to promote "pepper bread" in an alternative and witty way.
In the 4 days of Cioccolentino, there will be special events such as Beats of Love, in which the pastry chefs will make a huge heart-shaped cake. As the huge heart takes shape, its beats will mark the pulsations of the hearts in love. The huge cake can be tasted on Sunday February 16 and the collected offers are for the cardiology department of the Santa Maria di Terni hospital. There will also be the International itinerant Show, with artists from all over the world who will animate the city of love with their typical dances and songs. In keeping with the slogan of the event, "Love exceeds fantasy", you can enter the room of dreams, share them with those you love and immortalize the moment with a romantic photo.
Cioccolentino has always given great space to children, with activities and workshops such as Pasticcioni, Mani in Pasta, Little Confectioners, The Artists of Chocolate and many other events for very young chocolate lovers.
After the success of the past years, Master Pastry Chef returns, born with the aim of training new professional figures who know how to face the challenges of the moment. The children will work closely with pastry chefs and bakers, teachers and star chefs who will be able to contribute to their educational growth, thanks to their experience and ability. To judge their preparation Master Pastry Chef will select a jury of the highest level made up of star chefs, teachers and expert journalists in the food and wine sector, the winning team will be published in the specialized magazine of International Pastry. At the end of the event, the certificates of merit of the second Master Pastry Chef created by the Chamber of Commerce of Terni will be delivered, in collaboration with the A. Casagrande Professional Institute.
