Arrival in Umbria and free visit to Assisi, a Franciscan place par excellence not only in Umbria and Italy, but also in the rest of the world. The birthplace of St. Francis, Assisi is also the place where he was baptised and it is among its alleys that he spent his youth dreaming of a future as a valiant knight. It is in Assisi that the saint renounces earthly goods for love of God and his brothers and receives the mission to renew Christ's Church; it is in Assisi that he begins his preaching and his work of charity and peace, and it is finally here that he dies in 1226. His remains are preserved in the Basilica of St Francis, but the saint still lives in every stone of Assisi.

1:00 pm - Arrival at the Hotel and welcome of guests, check-in and welcome aperitif-tasting at the 3* Country Hotel with tasty Umbrian delicacies.

14:30 - Meeting with the driver at the 3* Country Hotel and departure by Gran Turismo bus to Gubbio, a city with a very ancient history whose roots go back as far as Palaeolithic times. An incredible open-air museum that in 1375 gave birth to one of Umbria's most influential artists, Ottaviano Nelli, painter and miniaturist.

3.15 pm - Meeting with the guide and guided tour of Gubbio and its main places of interest: Cathedral, Piazza Grande, Palazzo dei Consoli, Palazzo Ducale, Church of St. Ubaldo, Roman Theatre.

Gubbio and Christmas are a union that has lasted since 1981, when on the slopes of Mount Ingino it was decided to install a Christmas Tree in honour of the city's patron saint, St Ubaldo. A tree more than 750 m high with a base of 450 m and a total surface area of about 130,000 sq m, more than 700 lighting points and a 1000 sq m star at the top.

Free stroll through the historic centre and markets and at 6 p.m. switching on ofthe impressive light installation, time for photos and departure for a tasty typical Umbrian dinner.

Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel and at 8:45 am departure by Gran Turismo bus and arrival in Montefalco where we will meet our tour guide. Guided tour of Montefalco, an Umbrian village of incredible history and beauty, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Known as the "railing of Umbria", the village spreads out in a halo of charming cobbled alleyways all around the marvellous central square, and boasts numerous points of interest: the city walls, the Verziere Tower, and the magnificent museum centre of San Francesco, built by the Friars Minor between 1335 and 1338, which houses spectacular frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli depicting episodes from the life of Saint Francis, and numerous other works of great beauty and inestimable value.After visiting Montefalco, let us discover another medieval jewel of Umbria: Bevagna. This charming village is renowned for its thousand-year history, architectural beauty, culture and culinary tradition. The historical centre of Bevagna is characterised by medieval streets, cobbled squares and ancient stone buildings. Some of the places of interest include the Palazzo dei Consoli, the Church of San Silvestro, and Piazza Silvestri. 12:45 pm Departure for lunch in one of Umbria's oldest and most prestigious wine cellars, where a family has been handing down the knowledge and passion for wine for generations. Delicious wine tasting and gourmet pairings at the end. 2.30 pm After lunch, we reach Rasiglia, the village of streams, which preserves the typical characteristics of a medieval village by gathering in an amphitheatre-like structure, and is in fact famous for its springs and streams that flow through the village, making it unique and fascinating. Free stroll through its enchanting alleyways for a coffee or an ice cream before returning to the hotel. Scheduled time of return: 5.00 p.m. to prepare for the New Year's Eve dinner. 7.45 p.m. Departure for the New Year's Eve dinner at "Il poeta Contadino", a sober and elegant restaurant and country house nestled on a gentle hillside between Perugia and Assisi. The rich dinner will be enlivened by music from the 70s and 80s. The menu will be announced later. After the midnight toast, lentils, fireworks and dancing, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
