Cantina Berioli is located in Montesperello di Magione, a medieval village near Lake Trasimeno. The Berioli family has been producing wine, oil and honey since 1912 and the company is currently run by Roberto, a winemaker and agronomist, who is part of the third generation of the Berioli family. The 12 hectares of vineyards are farmed organically with the aim of respecting the environment, bringing to the winery healthy, undamaged grapes of great quality. In addition to Chardonnay and Trebbiano, the winery focuses in particular on the production of Grechetto, an indigenous Umbrian grape variety, a regional pride. While the flagship red is a Merlot Riserva: its name is Spiridione and it is a wine destined for long periods of bottle ageing. Another pride of the Cantina Berioli is a classic method sparkling wine and the traditional vinsanto.
