One of the oldest wineries in the denomination, Antonelli San Marco has been owned by the family of the same name since 1881. Comprising 190 hectares in a unique body of land in the centre of the Montefalco DOCG area, since 2009 it has fully converted to certified organic farming for all its production. The clayey soils rich in limestone, with different geological origins, form austere hills surrounded by woods, with an ideal microclimate for vines and olives. Ten hectares are dedicated to olive groves, while approximately fifty hectares are given over to vineyards, mainly facing south and west. We grow indigenous varieties: Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino for the whites, Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Sagrantino for the reds.At the centre of the estate, right under the old manor house, is the wine cellar, completely underground and designed for drop winemaking. A structure with a low environmental impact that provides for the entry of the crushed grapes into the fermenters, and the subsequent unloading of the marc, without the use of pumps, but by gravity, guaranteeing greater control of the first delicate phases of fermentation and maceration, as well as saving energy resources. We also offer wine tourism hospitality in the ancient Casale Satriano. Surrounded by vineyards and a unique panorama, it is located a short distance from the most beautiful Umbrian villages, and consists of carefully restored and furnished flats. The swimming pool of the farmhouse is for the exclusive use of our guests.Recently the farm has undertaken the breeding of pigs in the wild and the production of cold cuts. It is also possible to organise truffle hunts on the estate. Finally, Cucina in Cantina, Antonelli San Marco's cooking school, offers Umbrian cooking courses, lunches and dinners by reservation for groups, wine tastings and guided tours of the historic estate.

Museum complex of San Francesco in Montefalco
There is a pearl of rare beauty in Montefalco, which, together with Sagrantino wine, makes this village unique: it is the church of San Francesco built between 1335 and 1338 by the Friars Minor and transformed into a museum in 1990, along with rooms of the adjoining convent.
