It’s one of the traditional Umbrian dates in the holiday season: Presepi d'Italia (Italian Nativity Scenes), an International Exhibition of the Old Nativity Scene, is coming back with its 18th edition, from December 24th to January 6th in Massa Martana. In one of t he most Beautiful Italian Villages you can admire some pieces by great artists who, inspired by the Holy Night charm, they’ll give luster and prestige to this Exhibition. The Ice Nativity Scene 2019 will be inspired by the Nativity painted in 1313 by Giotto in the right side transept of the Assisi Inferior Cathedral.
It will be an ode to the art, a big piece of 13 square meters, totally carved in ice. Inside the old walls you’ll find 65 new classic cribs: Neapolitans, Palestinians, popular, dioramas, made with masterfully by the best Italian crib craftsmen; 45 new ceramic pieces dedicated to Christmas, presented by ceramic Masters from 15 “ Ceramic Towns”, each one proud of its tradition and of its pieces beauty; 40 new Nativities carved by great artists who will amaze you with their pieces beauty, making the Exhibition every year whole new. This Exhibition, which boasts the title “ Italian Cribs Expo”, is divided into 22 places of the Massa Martana old town, a village that already seems a crib, where visitors will be welcomed by some fires that elderly persons will light in the squares. They’ll be welcomed too by some sweet dirges into the alleyways. Among mulled wine, roast chestnuts, typical products of the territory and Christmas lights, you will feel all the magic holidays spirit.
