A mass celebrating the investiture and a propitiatory banquet precede the highly anticipated crossbow archery tournament between the three teams of the terzieri of the Compagnia dei Balestrieri di Assisi (the Assisi Company of Crossbow Archers): the winning team gains the "Drappo" (banner), whilst the crossbow archer with the highest score in the single shot contest wins the Balestrina d'Argento (Silver Crossbow), the "calzabraga" and the title of city champion for a year.
