Giro d'Italia 2018

The 101st edition of the "Giro d'Italia", that will start on Friday 4th May 2018 in Jerusalem, will also cross Umbria with a stage of arrival and departure, for a two days event devoted to one of the greatest sport events of all times.

On the next 15th and 16th May the towns of Gualdo Tadino and Assisi are going to host the 2018 edition (101st edition) of the "Giro d'Italia", respectively with a stage of arrival and departure. Lovers of great cycling can’t miss the occasion to live one two-days event devoted to one of the greatest sport events of all times. The Tour of Italy is one of most important multi-stage races of the world cycling calendar together with the other two international big races, the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España and is considered historically the second most prestigious stage race after the Tour.
After the departure, scheduled on Friday 4th May in Jerusalem, the Tour of Italy will arrive in Umbria with its 10th stage (the longest one of the 2018 Tour with its 239 km): on 15th May from the site of Penne in Abruzzo the pink caravan will reach Gualdo Tadino, where was born in 1917 the great Adolfo Leoni, winner of a world championship, 17 stages of the Tour of Italy and one stage of the Tour de France. Instead on 16th May the departure will be in St. Mary of Angels and the itinerary will travel through Rivotorto, Capodacqua, Spello and Foligno, for then reaching its final destination, the city of Osimo, in the Marche region.
