From there, it descends to the valley to 364 meters, to reach the magnificent Abbey of San Pietro in Valle. Now a private historic residence, the Abbey was highly influential during the Middle Ages, and led several times the rebellion against the Duchy of Spoleto as part of the "Federation of the Twelve Castles."
