Velino Festival 2025
The Velino Festival 2025 marks an important milestone in a cultural, artistic, touristic, and historical journey already underway in Marmore. This project revolves around the “Living Cultural Landscape” of the Waterfall and the Velino River, featuring both new initiatives and the continuation of well-established events.
The festival kicks off on March 7 with “Make the Right Move!”, a chess workshop open to all, organized by Pro Loco Marmore as part of its educational initiatives. The workshop will take place every Friday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sala Montesi. Each participant will receive a regulation chessboard and have the opportunity to test their skills in a stimulating environment, with a minimum of six and a maximum of twenty students.
On March 8, in celebration of International Women’s Day, the event “Lu Ternano tra tutti è lu mejo” will take place, as part of the Brogelli Project: Theater and Dialectal Traditions Course. This theater project, conceived by Pro Loco Marmore and directed by Pietro De Rosa, started in October 2024 and aims to improve participants’ expressive and communication skills through courses and workshops. The initiative will culminate in the National Festival of Dialect Theater, offering a unique opportunity to rediscover the region’s language and culture.
On March 19, in honor of Father’s Day, the traditional Cena di San Giuseppe will take place—a dinner celebrating the authentic flavors of Umbria with fresh, seasonal products. This event is designed to highlight local cuisine and preserve its traditions.
One of the most anticipated events is scheduled for April 18, Good Friday, with the 9th edition of the Historical Reenactment of the Passion of Christ. Now recognized at a national level, this performance will take place in the enchanting setting of the Belvedere Superiore in Parco Campacci. The immersive, itinerant event will feature 130 actors in period costumes, using the area’s natural beauty to create a timeless atmosphere. Carefully designed scenery will transport spectators to another era, with candlelight, torches, and a single narrating voice guiding the event, accompanied by music selected specifically for the occasion.
