La Cascata delle Marmore è un luogo magico che con i suoi giochi d'acqua riesce a coinvolgere naturalmente i visitatori più piccoli, e le tante attività dedicate ai bambini la rendono una meta ideale per una gita in famiglia.
The Cascata delle Marmore (Marmore Waterfall) is a magical place, which will enchant even the youngest visitors with its water features and there are also many activities dedicated to children, making it an ideal destination for a family day trip.
Whether you're young or old, there many things to do in the hiking area of the waterfall, as well as guided visits that will allow you to admire the grottoes or the waterfall at night. There are five trails in all, but the first three are the ones particularly suited to children. Trail number 1 links the "Belvedere inferiore" to the "Belvedere superiore", and it takes about an hour's walk or more to reach the atmospheric Balcone degli Innamorati (Lovers' Balcony), a terrace that allows you to literally walk inside the waterfall and touch the water. The second trail, with bridges and wooden walkways, is particularly suitable for the youngest members of the family and allows you to get very close to the second drop in the waterfall, an especially exciting experience for children. Trail number 3, is more level and is the trail that allows you to best admire the canyons carved into the rock by the river. The adventures don't end here: younger children (between 3 and 8 years old) can immerse themselves in the legendary story of the waterfall, by taking part in the Fantapasseggiate.
The Fantapasseggiata is a guided visit led by entertainers/actors and created specifically for children, who, following in the footsteps of the elf, Gnefro, will explore the park's trails discovering the love story between the shepherd, Velino, and the nymph Nera, from which, according to the legend, the Cascata delle Marmore were formed.
The tour, which takes place on pre-established dates, lasts about an hour and costs €4.50 per child (accompanying adults only pay for entry to the waterfall).
