On Sunday 22 September 2024, the Selvatica - FAI event will take place at the Benedictine Complex of Santa Croce in Assisi.
It will be a day dedicated to getting to know the ‘undomesticated’ plant and animal world through workshops, walks, and games proposed by passionate experts in the setting of the Bosco di San Francesco.
The day's programme includes: from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. sensory workshops; from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the workshop ‘Clay Animals’ to make small animals in clay and recognise their footprints; from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ‘If you find me inside the house, don't kill me’, discovering the world of geckos; from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ‘Amphibians and Reptiles from the Tropics to Italy’, a journey to discover creatures that, by camouflaging themselves, survive in a world of threats; from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. the walk ‘Predator or prey? ’, with games for adults and children in the forest; from 11:30 to 13:00 ‘The Animal Puzzle’, a walk to discover and protect a mysterious creature;
at 12.30 p.m. ‘Meetings to discover CITES’; from 2 p.m. ‘The insect itself: a magician of mimicry’; at 2.45 p.m. the workshop ‘A toccar le storie’, to create tactile books with animals and the forest as protagonists; finally, from 4 to 5.30 p.m. ‘Art in motion - Hunting for animals in paintings’, a walk to discover animals in paintings that have made art history.
