The new edition of PerSo: the Perugia Social Film Festival, the festival devoted to the social documentary and the real-life cinema, is going to take place from the 23th September to the 1^st October in the Umbria's main town.

The competing movies, divided between medium-lenght movies, feature films and short films (PerSo Award), artworks that have been already awarded in other festivals (PerSo Masterpiece) and Umbrian filmmakers' productions (Umbria in celluloide - Umbria in celluloid), are going to narrate the social environment in its widest sense and in its various forms, paying attention to the innovative styles of documentaries and to their ability of combining different genres, with the constant aim of introducing the wide audience to stories and themes dealt with in the movies.

The "not-to-miss PerSo", instead, will be the award intended for those who still have a project to be carried out, whereas the "PerSo Debut" will be attributed to the best debut work.

The novelty of this edition is the collaboration with the Solinas Documentary Prize for Cinema (contest organized in collaboration with Apollo 11 that has been promoting and supporting for 10 years the writing of documentary projects for the cinema). A residence among finalists and jurors of the Solinas Documentary Prize for Cinema is going to take place as part of the PerSo Film Festival.  

The complete program is also going to include several free projections in Perugia's cinemas and a series of side events.
