New Year's Eve in Perugia
The eagerly awaited New Year's Eve will be enlivened in Perugia's historic centre by a programme of musical activities and entertainment that will see the synergy between the Municipality of Perugia, the Consortium ‘Perugia in Centro’ and the BM Music Group.
It will be a sober evening in harmony with the Christmas displays, i.e. the Christmas markets, which will remain open until midnight, the ice skating rink, and the old kiosk in Via Mazzini, which for the entire Christmas period is hosting an ‘on the road’ radio station.
This is the basis for the programme, which includes the animation of the spaces already set up with two teams of Deejays who are very famous on the local scene: respectively the trio Beautiful sinners, Oldj and Viceversa, with a predilection for ‘80s-’90s dance classics and House music, which will soundtrack the area of the skating rink in Piazza della Repubblica, and the trio Fela back, Giopa and Martins, more oriented towards electronic sounds, Afro-Beat and assorted rhythms, which will warm up and tinge the area of the newsstand between Via Mazzini and Piazza Matteotti with exotic colours.
Everything, then, will be enlivened by a series of travelling attractions that will constitute the surprise effect of the evening: a pair of winged and sounding stilt-walkers, the uncovered ‘Magic Bus’ that will cross the main squares of the acropolis with the historic Perugian band Frost on board, specially reunited for the occasion, and a picturesque pick-up truck that will provide support along the axis of Corso Vannucci and the surrounding area for the pyrotechnic Falegnameria Marri, a young but very popular musical collective capable of mixing Italian songwriting, rock and street music with an ethnic flavour with originality.
The programme will start around 9.30 p.m. and end at 1 a.m.
