Imagine Italy

Imagine Italy

Imagine Italy”, the group photographic exhibition scheduled from the next 17th June to the 23rd July at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Umbertide, compares Italian and USA photographers.

It is a survey about the way of representing the identity of our country, through the comparison between the internal look of Italians and the external perspective of Americans; this comparison shows how artworks of Americans are more linked to symbols that made our history and culture famous in the world.

Artworks of Italians are devoted to less known places, researches linked to abandoned historical places, civil architectures of the urban suburbs, but also particular historical moments that contribute to leave a precise memory of a typically Italian epoch and atmosphere.

Protagonists of this exhibition are artists known not only in Italy but all over the world, who won several prizes: Davide Bramante, Silvia Camporesi, Gianni Gosdan, Marcantonio Lunardi, Roberto Marchese, Marco Signorini, Roberto Bocci, Tim Davis, Matthew Monteith, Reynold Reynolds,William Wylie.

Times: from Tuesday to Sunday 10.30 am/12.30pm and 4.30 pm/7.30 pm
