The church of San Francesco was built in the mid of the XIII century and expanded in the early 1700s.
Architecturally, the church has a Romanesque-Gothic facade in white limestone of Monte Cucco. It is the only architectural element still visible of the medieval origin. Infact in the XVII and XVIII centuries there were renovation and expansion of the church. The façade is characterized by a portal with embrasure distinguished by fillets of decorated columns. At the base of the columns there are jambs decorated with bas-reliefs.
On the bas-reliefs there are animal's shapes related to the Romanesque figurative culture. Above there's the rose window, which presents with slender columns softened by foliage and other decorative motifs carved in bas-relief on the capitals.
