 Liguria Crib of the 18th century 
When
: from 8 December 2017 to 6 January 2018
Where: Upper Basilica of St. Francis, Assisi
The Liguria Region that donated the votive oil on the occasion of St. Francis’ Feast will be protagonist of the characteristic Crib of its own region.

 

 

➡ Exhibition of cribs from the Holy Land
When
: from 8 December 2017 to 6 January 2018 / Working days: 10 am – 12.30 pm / 3 – 7 pm – Public holidays: 9 am – 12.30 pm / 3 – 7 pm 
Where: Room of the People’s Captain, Assisi
It’s an exhibition of cribs coming from the Holy Land and a private collection that exhibit panels representing the 800 years spent by Franciscans in the Holy Land.

A life-size Crib has been made under the Colonnade of the Minerva Temple and will make even more precious and suggestive this ancient monument of Assisi. 

 


The Crib of the Heaven’s Hill

Francis, Assisi
The Crib of the Heaven’s Hill, created by Carlo Angeletti with passion and a strong sense of tradition, has been made since 1995 thanks to the availability of the Sacred Convent and the collaboration of volunteers. 

 

 

 A World of Cribs 
When
: from 8 December 2017 to 7 January 2018 / 9 am – 12.40 pm / 2.30 – 7 pm 
Where: Cloister of the Porziuncola Basilica – St. Mary of Angels (Assisi)
International Exhibition of cribs.
Each year a big exhibition of Cribs coming from every part of the world is set up in an inspiring setting at the Porziuncola. 

 

 

Neapolitan Artistic Crib of 1700
When
: from 8 December 2017 to 6 January 2018 / 10 am – 9 pm
Where: Sala Pinacoteca, Assisi
The artwork reflects the Neapolitan crib tradition as well as style and offers, together with the Nativity, an extremely lively cross-section of the popular life crowded with shepherds and where the reality is represented in an ironical and good-natured way. The costumes of shepherds have been made and entirely hand-stitched by Antonietta Mancinelli Angeletti who with a skilled care chose accurately the fabrics and models reproducing the popular clothes of the festivity.

Crib executed below the excavations of the Cathedral. 

 

 

➡ Nativity Scenes in Assisi 
When
: from 17th December to 7th January; 10 am – 12 pm / 3 – 6 pm
Where: Orto degli Aghi, Assisi
It’s a crib of Franciscan inspiration with a domestic setting of the nativity scenes in the medieval Assisi, executed at an ancient storehouse in Assisi with costumes and objects of past times and references to Franciscan sources.

 Exhibition of Crib Art 
When
: from 23rd December to 7th January: 9 am – 8 pm 
Where: Gallery of Lodges, Assisi
It’s now a usual appointment for the town of Assisi, that hosts exhibitions of several precious handmade Cribs. 

 


➡ Opening of the Crib in the Holy Hovel 
When
: from 24th December to 6th January 
Where: Rivotorto, Assisi
It’s an Umbrian and Franciscan Crib laid out in Rivotorto in the Sanctuary of the Holy Hovel. The Crib is a perfect reconstruction of an Umbrian landscape with its fields and trees; its background is the Major Fortress of Assisi. It’s a miniature small world reconstructed with natural materials.

Living Crib in San Gregorio

Where: San Gregorio, Assisi
Representation of the Nativity and of Crib Scenes within the Walls of the Castle. 

 


 Living Crib in Petrignano
When
: 25-26 December 
Where: Petrignano, Assisi
At sunset beyond 100 characters will give life to the magic Living Crib of Petrignano di Assisi. Each alley and corner of the Medieval Village will be enveloped by a magic atmosphere with plays of light and shadows. 

 


 Living Crib of Armenzano
When
: 25th December 
Where: Armenzano, Assisi
Curated by the Municipal Tourist Board of Armenzano, it’s among the most long-lived Christmas re-enactments of Assisi and Subasio. Within the small village of medieval origin, the local population recalls the moments linked to Jesus’ birth: the announcement of the Angel to Mary, the doubts of Joseph, Mary and Elisabeth, the anger of Herod for the new Messiah, the census and the arrival of the Three Kings
