Our association promotes, organizes and plans tailor-made thematic, enogastronomic, historical-artistic and sporting in this unspoilt corner of Umbria.

The Carpina Valley is an unexplored oasis in the northern part of the Umbria region, on the border with the Marches and at a short distance from Tuscany. The area is rich in history and traditions that can be also perceived among local people. Thre you can enjoy pleasant stays discovering a new culture and admiring a wild nature. After a journey through hills and valleys you arrive in Pietralunga, an ancient village with a small community.   Once there  you will soon have the feeling of being in a place with a past still alive. The simple and  humble people there are strongly linked to their traditions, they are  very hospitable and are pleased to share with you their everyday life even for a short period. Here are some definitions for the Carpina Valley: The Valley of Colours. For the peculiarity of its natural environment. The Spring and Autumn seasons portray landscapes with a unique variety of colours, You can  admire them by participating to the leaf peeping activities guided by experts. The Valley of Flavours. In the Farmholidays and country houses, once ancient farms and country inns,  you can now enjoy genuine food prepared by skilled housewives following  recipes handed down from generations: handmade pasta, torta sul panaro (a traditional flat bread),  pork products following ancient processing methods and gnocchi made with the precious white potato grown on the land of Pietralunga The Valley of Crafts It will be exciting for you to be part of a community where ancient crafts are preserved and are still alive in the old worhshops of blacksmith or in the seasonal activities of peasants. The  Valley of Scents The White Truffle, the Summer Truffle and the Bianchetto flavour dishes all year round. Wild fruit such as cherries and blackthorns are processed to make delicious liqueurs The Valley of Silence A sense of peace and quiet atmosphere has surrounded for centuries this territory. Lots of Pilgrims choose to stop and rest in the Village, that is an intermediare stage of the religious Franciscan Way going  fron Assisi to La Verna   We  can offer itineraries combining the various activities of the Carpina Valley and following your specific interests and requirements.

Giorno di arrivo. Sistemazione in bio-agriturismo a Pietralunga. Visita ad azienda agrituristica certificata biologica dove saranno fornite spiegazioni sull’ecosistema, ambiente naturale e dove i trenta ettari della fattoria sono coltivati secondo i criteri dell’agricoltura biologica: lavorazioni poco profonde, concimazione organica e rotazione delle colture, raccolta dei cereali. Dimostrazione della pulitura con un antico cilindro. Ore 15,00 lezione di pasta fatta in casa con il metodo tradizionale a mano. Parteciperete attivamente alla preparazione dell’impasto seguendo i gesti dell’esperta massaia Silvana. Il laboratorio comincerà con la molitura: i cereali vengono macinati nel mulino con macine di pietra e  setacciati nel buratto che permette di separare i diversi tipi di farina, da quella più bianca a quella più integrale, dalla crusca. La fase successiva prevede l’unione delle uova “colte” nel pollaio con la farina per ottenere l’impasto che poi dovrete con il “mattarello” stendere con precisi e ritmici movimenti impartiti da Silvana. Ottenuta la sfoglia, che dovrà essere del giusto spessore, si passerà al taglio per realizzare i diversi tipi di pasta come tagliolini, tagliatelle, “zaganiotti”, pezzette o straccetti…..che gusterete per cena.Inoltre per cena piatti tipici della cucina tradizionale locale, preparati da Silvana con prodotti di stagione 100% biologici. Ogni sera una proposta diversa, fra le numerose specialità della casa. Pasto biologico completo (antipasto, primo, secondo, contorno, dolce)

Pernottamento 

Primo giorno. Colazione. Alle ore 8.00 si aprono le porte della sala da pranzo, dove è allestito un ricco buffet di prodotti biologici 100%: cereali, marmellate, miele, crema di nocciole, salumi e formaggi, uova, yogurt, succhi di frutta, caffè, tè, cioccolata e ancora pane, dolci e biscotti fatti in casa.Ore 14.30 c.a. trasferimento presso azienda produttrice di crema di Nocciola bio.
Passeggiata nel noccioleto con spiegazioni sulla produzione, sulla tostatura e trasformazione. Successiva merenda degustativa con pane e la deliziosa crema.Rientro in agriturismo, cena e pernottamento.

Two days on  a farm to learn about the organic production cycle of cereals and to learn how to make handmade pasta. You will also  have a "walk in the hazel grove" with explanations on the roasting of hazelnuts and on the production process of delicious  organic cream. You will enjoy a snack with bread and organic hazelnut cream.

Handmade pasta workshop

Accommodation on an organic holiday farm.Visi to a certified organic farm where you will learn about the ecosystem, the natural environment and about the organic farming criteria used for cultivating the thirty acres of farmland, such as shallow workings, organic fertilization, crop rotation and harvesting of cereals. A demonstration of cleaning using an old cylinder will follow15.00 Participation to a handmade pasta workshop in the organic holiday farm following traditional methods. You will be actively involved in the pasta-making process by following the gestures of Silvana and her mother Raffaella.They will start by showing you the stone-grinding of cereals to obtain different types of flour: white, wholemeal and bran. Following the housewife’s instructions you will mix eggs, flour and water. The mixture obtained will be rolled with the help of a wooden rolling pin till you obtain dough sheets. They will be of suitable thickness to prepare different types of pasta such as: tagliolini, tagliatelle, pappardelle, straccetti, ravioli etcDinner with traditional local dishes prepared by Silvana with 100% organic seasonal products. Every evening you will enhoy different recipes, from the many specialities of the Farm. Organic complete meals including appetizers main course, second course and dessert).

Transfer to a producer of organic hazelnut cream
 Breakfast to enjoy a delicious rich buffet with 100% organic products: cereals, jams, honey, hazelnut butter, meat, cheese, eggs, yogurt, juices, coffee, tea, chocolate and even bread, cakes and biscuits from the farm.Transfer to a producer of organic hazelnut cream. You will walk in the orchard and learn about the production process, including the roasting and processing of hazelnuts. A tasting snack with bread and the delicious cream produced will follow. Back to holiday farm for overnight.
