08-17 July 2016

We can narrate you the streets of the Perugia historical center in those July days, following the blues notes, or accompanying the piano melodies with the voice. Or we could narrate you the emotion of hearing chords, but it wouldn't be enough to talk about Umbria Jazz, the International Festival devoted to Jazz in all its shadows, that has being held in Perugia since 1973.

Ten days, from the 8th to the 17th July, in which Perugia symbolic places, from the large Arena of Santa Giuliana space until the fascinating Teatro Morlacchi stage, will welcome important names of the international musical scene.

Some Umbria Jazz guests, this year, are Ezio Bosso, Mika, Massimo Ranieri, Chick Corea e Stefano Bollani, and then Ramin Bahrami e Danilo Rea, Diana Krall, Buddy Guy and many other jazz and blues musicians.

Walking through the historical center you will be accompanied by a unique leitmotif: the jazz notes. The day in Piazza IV November, the heart of Perugia, and in Carducci gardens, will be marked by many free concerts. Walking along Corso Vannucci, you could bump into one of the largely famous Funk Off street parades.

A unique occasion to see the city in one of its brightest and most characteristic times of the year and that made it an exceptional stage for international musicians as well as a desired destination for all jazz lovers.

In the meantime, waiting for July, on the 30th April Perugia will celebrate the International Jazz Day, established in 2012 by Unesco: a day to celebrate one of the most important form of art and communication.
