With its 72nd edition, “Music friends” has confirmed itself more than an event characterized by the collaboration: beyond the precious synergy created with the Perugia Chamber Orchestra, the wide and always renewed planning addressed to schools, the recent convention with the Conservatory “Francesco Morlacchi”, the vitality of the Umbrian Music Festival, this year’s news is a coordinated relationship with the Cucinelli Foundation and with the music programs of the Solomeo Theatre.

The 2017/2018 season is devoted to Franco Buitoni, whose guide has been the most precious heritage for the Perugia Music Friends. In order to celebrate his memory, Perugia is going to welcome again András Schiff, his lifetime friend, together with his wife Yuuko Shiokawa, and many other wonderful artists who take pride of their “degree” at the Borletti-Buitoni Trust: Veronika Eberle, Marie-Elisabeth Ecker, Martin Helmchen, the Cremona Quartet, the Jerusalem Quartet and Gloria Campaner.

Furthermore in 2018 two important centenaries will be celebrated, namely the Debussy’s death anniversary with a monographic concert by Benedetto Lupo and the 150 years from the death of Rossini, with an original production of the Petit Messe Solennelle.

The chamber music, the big pianists, the traditional appointments of Christmas and Easter are going to accompany you for the entire season: the Notari Hall, the Morlacchi Theatre and the St. Peter’s Basilica in the Perugia acropolis are going to be the concerts’ locations.
