The Feast of the Canticle
The Feast of the Canticle will be held on 21 September at the Convent of San Damiano in Assisi: an occasion to celebrate the most ‘universal’ prayer of Brother Francis in the very place where he composed it, as a guest of Clare and her sisters for fifty days, in the winter between 1224 and 1225.
In a special way, this year's will be the Sixty-first edition, celebrated in a more solemn form, exactly 800 years after the composition of the Canticle.
An important moment that becomes an opportunity to rediscover in what circumstances, for what reasons and by whose hand this moment so followed and loved by all those who carry in their hearts the small sanctuary so dear to Francis and Clare of Assisi was born.
