Il campo espanso. Arte e agricoltura in Italia dagli anni Sessanta a oggi 2025

From March 23rd until June 8th 2025, the ground floor of Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto will host Il campo espanso. Arte e agricoltura in Italia dagli anni Sessanta a oggi (The Expanded Field. Art and Agriculture in Italy from the 1960s to Today), a major group exhibition curated by Simone Ciglia.
The project brings together over thirty artists and stands out as one of the most important exhibitions of the spring season, offering an in-depth reflection on the relationship between contemporary art and the agricultural world throughout more than sixty years of Italian history.

Rural life—seen through the lenses of landscape, sustainability, memory, and the connection between humans and nature—becomes the starting point for a cultural, political, and social investigation. The exhibition pairs historical works—some from the museum's permanent collection—with contemporary projects developed in collaboration with farms, foundations, and artist residencies such as Pollinaria, RAVE, Interferenze, and many others.
