Festival delle Corrispondenze 2025
From 2 to 7 September 2025, with a preview on 29 August (Castel Rigone), Monte del Lago (Magione, Umbria) will host the 14th edition of the Festival delle Corrispondenze, a cultural event dedicated to the written word, memory and dialogue, bridging epistolary writing, literature and contemporary forms of communication.
Throughout the week, the village will host meetings, readings and conversations with authors, journalists and scholars, offering a programme that explores the power of writing as a means of reflection and connection.
A key moment will be the 27th edition of the Vittoria Aganoor Pompilj National Literary Prize, to be awarded on Sunday 7 September. The prize honours epistolary writing as a literary form and space for intimate thought. It features two sections: one for published works that include historically or culturally relevant letters, and one for unpublished letter-style compositions, centred on the 2025 theme: Frenzy, inspired by a quote from Vittoria Aganoor.
The Youth category (ages 12–18) also returns, encouraging young people to express themselves through writing, inspired by a quote from Daniele Nicastro’s novel Cinque giorni per non dirti addio.
